It's Going to Be a WHITE GRISTMAS
This beer is deceptive looking. From simply looking at it, it appears to be a simple gold coloured beer. You might think to yourself that this will be a light, crisp blonde ale – but you would be wrong. Close your eyes and take a sip; your brain will be convinced that this beer is dark stout. White Gristmas is a full bodied, thick tasting beer with STRONG notes of coffee and chocolate.
Free Willamette
November's Beer of the Month is our award winning Free Willamette. It is a classic example of the California Common beer style. Made like a lager, it has rich malty notes balanced by strong hop character, while still being light and crisp like a lager.

3rd Time Lucky | Beer of the Month October 2019
This is a beer we have been trying to make a long long time. Our initial efforts were all (delicious) failures. Even though they were double IPAs, we found them way too bitter. Finally, we figured out the solution to the bitterness problem. Once we sorted that out, everything else fell into place. This is a big, bold IPA that has tonnes of fruit forward hop flavour with just the right amount of finishing bitterness.

Full-Time Saison
July 16, 2019 – A day that will live in infamy. For this day was Devon’s first full-time shift here at KJ. She transitioned from working an easy breezy 4-day work week up to the full-time grind. Nothing will ever be the same here! Things are more organized, the smell of bleach wafts out daily from the production area, and the floors are shinier than ever. However, before she got to work fixing up the shop – she did the most important thing an employee can do here (aside from mopping) - She made a beer. This recipe and beer was 100% designed and brewed by Devon.

Boring Brown Ale
What we have here today is a delicious, well balanced, malt forward English style brown ale. Featuring our freshly arrived English East Kent Golding hops along with some nice dark specialty malts. It’s got a great colour but isn’t too heavy either. It may not be the most exciting beer you’ve ever tried, but its damned tasty, and goes with just about anything. Is it tasty in the summer? Yep. Is it delicious in January? Hell yes. Is it a great accompaniment after a day working in the sun? Unquestionably! So, get over the boring nature of this beer, brew the hell out it, and enjoy!

Sequels are all the rage these days. Why not with a beer? Introducing Unicorn Tears 2 - the bigger, badder, citrus-ier version of the original. This one is packed with tangerine peels to give the beer an intense sweet citrus punch. It's also summer weather friendly! It can be fermented within a huge range of temperatures.
BOHO Blonde
Sometimes we as homebrewers forget that beers don’t need to be complicated. They can be simple, yet delicious, and rich with flavour. This month’s beer is a testament to this idea. It features just one kind of malt and hop. We’re using our freshly arrived 2018 Tettnanger (Tettang) hops along with a premium type of Pilsner malt called Bohemian Pilsner. BOHO Pils delivers a maltier, fuller bodied flavour than a standard Pilsner malt. So, if you’re tired of drinking 8% double IPAs and chai latte spiced stouts, give this blonde a try – we think you’ll love it.

Ever since our first version of Super Sesh was released in January 2019 we have been hard at work iterating on this simple, but delicious recipe. Batch after batch was attempted, enjoyed, and then improved upon. We took meticulous notes and studied hard. Ultimately, we came up with a triumvirate of beers for the month of May.

The Student
What better time to think of the plight of the university student and their perpetual lack of funds than September. This is the month Guelph’s population swells with students, and so we have a beer specially designed for the student budget, but everyone’s taste-buds. Our goal was to design the cheapest beer to make that still tastes good. This is “The Student” a CPA for September. BUT, because we love students so much we will be extending this promotion on this beer INDEFINITELY!!!
This beer is amber in colour, it has a nice full bodied malty flavour with light hop bitterness to back it up. It will be easy drinking and respectable. We hope you enjoy it!
Super Sesh
Beer is kryptonite for the average dad bod. It’s cold, crisp, succulent, delicious flavour is full of stomach expanding carbs. This is especially true after a turkey and beer filled December. Now with the holidays over, it’s safe to say we’re all feeling a little bloated at KJ. January is a great time to cut down on the excesses of December, and in this spirit we’re making a very low calorie, sessionable beer for January.

Our beer of the month for December 2018 is a full bodied amber ale, with brash hints of smokiness that is balanced by the big malt profile. The 37 IBUs of hops keeps all those flavours in check resulting in a very well balanced beer.
