Prost!
There was no way we could let October pass without making a classic Oktoberfest style beer. A common phrase heard at Oktoberests across the world is “Prost!” which means simply, Cheers!
True Oktoberfest beers tend to be lagered and much lighter than the one we are producing. Since lagering can be a challenge for most homebrewers we thought we would make more of a Märzen style Oktoberfest beer.
Bake Him Away, Toys
What we have here is a hop forward pale ale without too much bitterness. It is clean, low in alcohol but full of crisp citrus flavours. It has quickly become a favourite of ours at KJ, and a crowd pleaser with our friends and family.

Unicorn Tears - Hefeweizen Recipe
Unicorn Tears is our outlandishly named wheat beer that we feel is perfect for summer. It is crisp, with lots of banana and tropical fruit flavours. It is fermented pretty dry, but has that classic wheat beer sweetness to it. The aroma from racking it to secondary was so pleasant that we decided that it smelled like Unicorn Tears. When we initially started brewing we felt that wheat beers would be really difficult to make, nothing could be farther from the truth. We have made a few batches of this and it is one of the easiest brews to make.

Easy Red
Red ales have one of the nicest appearances of any beer type. The problem is, that red colour is very difficult to obtain. We have tried countless times to make red beers only to end up on either end of the colour spectrum. Nonetheless! This recipe has proven the most reliable at getting that perfect red colour.
It also happens to be a tasty brew too. It is malt forward with a solid hop backbone to keep the sweetness away. It’s easy to make and great to look at, cheers!
YIPPEE KI-YAY MR. FALCON
Oh this months beer is a FUN one. Yippee Ki-Yay Mr. Falcon pays homage to one of the greatest voice dubs in TV history, and to a great hop named after a craft beer pioneer. This is a single hop IPA with big citrus notes, that is full flavoured and has just the right amount of hoppiness.

Stoutstache is designed to be a full bodied, well balanced stout. It is a smooth drinking beer with dark notes of chocolate & coffee. We enjoyed the hell out of this beer. Approachable for all beer drinkers and easy to make!
