Each month we release a new recipe for our Beer of the Month. They are always recipes that we have personally brewed ourselves, and have to pass a taste test amongst all of the staff here (tough job we know!). The recipes will be easy to make and we will gladly assist new home brewers in the production of these beers. They will all be 5.5 gallons in size. We find that after fermenting and racking a 5.5 gallon batch turns into a standard 5 gallon batch pretty quickly.
At the start of every month we will post the recipe in store, as well as on our website, Facebook, and Instagram. We will also have a set price for the recipe that will include a discount of up to 25%!

On February 3rd 2021, our co-founder Kamil, was lost – we miss him dearly. We would see Kamil almost daily. The KJ team would be working away up at the front of the shop and then the sound of shuffling feet would waft in from the back room and we knew Kamil was in the house. As soon as we heard the shuffling, we ran to grab him one of our newest craft brews. Kamil would try anything we made – but he always complained it was too hoppy UNLESS it was a Kölsch or Pilsner. He loved the crisp and clean taste of lagered beers.
In 2017 we released the original Kamil’s Kölsch. It was a Kamil approved Kölsch that he enjoyed very very much, however we think he would like the sequel even more. It has his favourite Czech hop: Saaz, it also sports the premium German Bohemian Pilsner malt, and its fermented just a bit drier than the original to make it nice and crisp. We miss him like hell, and hope he’s enjoying one of these upstairs right now while dropping one of his classic jokes like “The Elephant”…
All proceeds from the sale of Kamil’s Kölsch 2 will be donated to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society.
