    Magnetic Balls - IPA Recipe

    Magnetic Balls

    IPA – 5.5 Gal - OG 1.057 – FG 1.011– ABV 5.9% - IBU 59 – SRM 7.3

    Featuring a couple of exciting new hops that have recently arrived, this is one hell of an IPA. The Strata and Sabro hops add a distinct orange, citrus, and tropical fruit flavour. This beer is bursting with flavour but is well balanced by the IBUs and light malt profile. We’re using a special yeast from Norway to really enhance the hop flavours and aroma. We tested this recipe with a few different yeast strains and Arset Kveik was far away the winner.

    Grains
    • 2 Row x 10.5lbs
    • Crystal Light x 1.1lbs
    • Acidulated Malt x .25lbs
    Hops (ALL POST BOIL)
    • Strata (14.4% A.A.) - 1.0 oz @ FLAMEOUT - 20 minutes 
    • Sabro (15.6% A.A.) - 1.0 oz @ FLAMEOUT - 20 minutes 
    • Strata (14.4% A.A.) - 2.0 oz @ 160°F/71°C - 10 minutes 
    • Sabro (15.6% A.A.) - 1.0 oz @ 160°F/71°C - 10 minutes 
    • Strata (14.4% A.A.) - Dry Hop - 1.0oz, Add two days before bottling
    • Sabro (15.6% A.A.) - Dry Hop - 1.0oz, Add two days before bottling
    Yeast
    • Arset Kveik (Escarpment Labs)
    Extras (Must be purchased separately)
    • Calcium Chloride - 4g (0.8tsp) in mash
    • DME/Dextrose - 150g at bottling for priming
