Thermoworks Items Now Available!

In case you have not heard of Thermoworks, they are the company who makes the world famous Thermapens. We have wanted to carry their various kitchen items here at KJ for the longest time, and now we finally have a selection of their items. 

While these items were designed for use in home and commercial kitchens, they have a lot of viable uses for brewers too! Many of these items make great gifts for the homebrewer/chef in the family. I personally use the Thermapen (in blue) and the TimeStick at home. I find they are incredibly useful for all of my cooking and brewing needs.

Thermapen: 

With full readings in only 2 to 3 seconds, the Super-Fast® Thermapen is the world’s best in speed and accuracy. Advanced technology makes the new Thermapen Mk4 even more intuitive than previous models. Hold it in any direction and the display automatically rotates right-side-up so you can read it in any position—in either hand, straight up or down; read temperatures without cocking your head.

Think how many times you have to take a temperature reading while brewing. This device makes these readings quick, and accurate. We have gotten so much use out of our unit. 

TimeStick:

Directly set your time, with one hand, on the Splash-proof numeric keypad. We've made operation as simple as can be. After your first use, throw away the instructions. The count-down bar graph gives you a quick indicator of remaining time. When a count-down alarm sounds, the count-up timer starts so you will see how much time elapses after your alarm. To start we cranked up the volume to 110 decibels to get your attention even in a noisy kitchen or on the plant floor. Choose from four volume settings. The rugged housing includes molded-in seals and rubber buttons to survive years of daily use with wet fingers. Set time quickly on the numeric keypad. No tedious up/down or scrolling buttons that run past the number you want.

New and stronger magnets grip the timer to a metal surface. A flip-out tilt stand is great for counter tops and a keyhole mounts the timer on a screw. DOT and BlueDot:

DOT is engineered to do one thing really well. Set your target temperature with the up or down buttons, insert the probe in your food, and DOT beeps when it gets there. Simple as that. Hit any button and the beeping stops. The display still flashes till your temperature drops below the setpoint. DOT uses any of the Pro-Series probes designed for our popular ChefAlarm. The included 4.5-inch probe reads temperatures up to 572°F with a cable that withstands 700°F. DOT is designed to track temperatures over an extended period of time with moderate-heat cooking methods such as smoking, oven-roasting, deep-frying, homebrewing, and Sous Vide and to be used while grilling. DOT is not meant to be used in place of a digital instant-read thermometer, such as a Thermapen MK4 or a ThermoPop, or used with broiling.
